Colton is a drop dead gorgeous all black, young adult German Shepherd. Colton came to East County Animal Shelter as a stray and was pulled to foster quickly because we saw the need to place him in a German Shepherd savvy home. Colton is a lot of dog with some decent work drive. To give Colton a special edge, TVAR decided to send him to board and train for some extra structure, obedience, and dog socialization. He is currently in training with Shane at Diablo K9 Academy. Shane states that Colton is an energetic boy who loves to stay busy. He could be good for doing some kind of dog sport like AKC obedience, tracking, agility and maybe even Search and Rescue with the right handler. Colton will also have three add on training sessions with his new adopter and trainer. Colton will not be placed in a home with small children. Colton does bond with his person and will be a fun dog for the right owner. He crates nicely and rides well in a vehicle. Colton's prey drive does not suit him for a home with cats.
